Este filme conta a história de Kat Connors, uma rapariga de 17 anos que não se dá muito bem com a sua mãe.

Até que um dia, ao chegar da escola o seu pai conta que a sua mãe desapareceu, sem levar nada consigo, nenhuma roupa ou carro.

Ao inicio Kat não quer acreditar, mas com o passar do tempo, e após alguma conversas com amigos, ela começa a duvidar que a sua mãe tenha apenas fugido.
