Este filme conta a história real de Cindy Paulson, uma prostituta que acaba de fugir do seu sequestrador.

Cindy decide fazer queixa na polícia que um homem a sequestrou e a molestou, mas ninguém acredita na sua história.

Mais tarde Jack Halcombe fica a saber da sua história e começa a aperceber-se que existe algumas semelhanças com uns casos antigos, por isso decide investigar.
